**Gerry O’Brien recently visited our 3rd, 4th,
and 5th graders. They loved his characters, his
story line, and his presentation. You could see their creative
wheels turning as Mr. O’Brien read the story and discussed ways of
planting a character or a story seed. He inspired our young writers
and encouraged them to believe in themselves. There is no greater
gift that can be given to children—M. Moore, Volunteer Coordinator
**I thought he was engaging. My students enjoyed it a lot.
I think his presentation made a few of them think about writing
books themselves.—5thgrade teacher
**The students really found Mr. O’Brien funny and engaging. He
was able to hold their attention well and it was beneficial for them
to see what goes into writing a book. It was great that he
reinforced what we have been teaching them…that it all starts from a
tiny seed idea and grows from there. –4th grade teacher
**Gerry O’Brien’s speech was great! It gave our kids a real insight
into how characters are developed by the author.
Inspiring!—5th grade teacher
